Throughout my life, I have been a photo enthusiast, travelling the world and documenting through photographs its richness and diversity. However, it was the universal beauty of children that inspired me to turn my passion into a business in 2003. With a background in computers and an international MBA, the move to digital technology was organic and a perfect fit when it came time for me to shift careers. In my view, the digital age has opened up many new avenues for the creative mind. It is hard to believe that it has been nearly ten years since I first embarked on this venture. Encouraged by winning an Epson photo competition, Pamela Pauline Photography was born.
When photographing my clients, I have a casual photojournalist approach with the aim of capturing natural yet artistic photographs in a relaxed environment. I find that children respond particularly well to a bit of spontaneity and relationship building, which hopefully comes through in my photographs. Photographs can be taken at a park, your home, or at my home studio.
I am currently based in Sydney, Australia, but had a fabulous opportunity a few years ago to spend some time in India. We went as a family to Delhi from 2007 to 2010. The colours and contrasts were a constant source of creative inspiration. While portraiture remained a strong focus, I loved capturing moments in India with my camera and then using creative tools to isolate the beauty by extracting and playing with colour. While in New Delhi, I held several exhibitions of my artwork and together with a Delhi-based travel consultant also developed an upmarket range of photographic postcards and stationery products for the high end tourism market in India. These are now being marketed through my affiliate, Art Dekho in Delhi. The Indian photocards are also available for purchase here in Australia along with a collection of other photocards. They can be purchased via this website if you are living in Australia (see Shop). If you are living elsewhere, just send me an email and I can get the cards to you.
